Spring hanger bolts now have nuts

The lockdown may be ongoing, but work on 4709 continues.

Having completed the spring hanger bolts last week, the team at Leaky Finders set to this week and completed the nuts those critically important bolts require.

Machined from EN8 (an unalloyed medium carbon steel), the nuts are quite large, measuring 2.76” across the flats. A slot is included to accommodate a cotter pin.

They join the bolts (machined from EN16T stock, an alloy with good shock resistance) in Leaky Finders’ store, waiting the chassis which will arrive as soon as the lockdown restrictions permit.
